Description
xBloom Studio Coffee Machine
The xBloom Studio takes the successes of the original xBloom and adds additional functionality for an even more versatile pour-over brewer. With a built-in all-purpose grinder, an intelligent brew system capable of replicating a variety of baristas’ pour-over patterns, and a precision scale, the xBloom Studio brings the convenience of a third-wave coffee shop directly to your kitchen.
Features & Benefits
The xBloom Studio features a built-in 48 mm conical burr grinder that automatically adjusts itself based on the beans you’re using, so you don’t need to spend time dialing in. New on the Studio, the grinder has a variable RPM motor and 80 stepped settings, offering a full range of grind sizes from espresso to cold brew. To reduce static buildup, xBloom added a deionizer as well as built the internal components from anti-static materials, resulting in extraordinarily low retention rates.
From there, the xBloom uses a sophisticated technology to recreate the pouring style of a professional barista, adjusting the water temperature, pouring pattern, bloom time, and water to coffee ratio based on the type of coffee you’re using. This is all made possible by the xBloom’s ingenious xPod system. These are not your standard coffee pods—xBloom works with some of the best coffee roasters in the world to create biodegradable pods full of whole-bean coffee which you grind fresh for every cup. An RFID tag at the bottom of each pod informs the xBloom of the perfect brewing parameters which the brewer automatically matches, so you end up with a cup of pour-over exactly the way the roaster intended.
Compared to the xBloom Original, the Studio made the switch to a mechanically rotating water nozzle, allowing for even more precision when it comes to pouring patterns and improving the maximum flow rate, which helps increase coffee bed agitation during brewing. They also added tactile, knurled knobs for adjusting brew settings for an overall more intuitive UI that doesn’t require the use of their app. If you’re interested in experimentation, however, the app allows you to take full control of your brewing parameters, so you can create your own brew recipes remotely.
One of the most exciting updates on the xBloom Studio is that each of its component parts—grinder, brewer, and scale—have been given full, independent autonomy. That means you can use the grinder to prep coffee for a shot of espresso just as easily as for a pour-over. Need water for tea? Simply set your desired temperature and you’re good to go. You could even weigh baking ingredients on the scale, which is accurate to 0.1g.
Why You Should Get It
The xBloom studio is a more affordable version of the xBloom original that, somehow, has even more functionality.
